A Mark II hand pump is a human-powered pump designed to lift water from a depth of fifty meters or less.

Mark II pumps are rugged, hot-dip galvanized and extremely durable over the years. It is designed in India and field-tested in 1976 and 1977[1].

The India Mark II hand pump is a result of continuous and collaborative research and development efforts of non-governmental, industrial and multilateral aid organisations, in co-ordination with the Government of India during the 1970s. This hand pump is accepted internationally as one of the most reliable and sturdy pumps originating from a developing country.
